Part One: What To Grow

In this session, we will cover 24 essential fall/late summer flowers that are excellent for bridal work. Dahlias, zinnias, sunflowers, hydrangea, and lisianthus are on the wishlist of many modern brides. We'll talk about these and many other fantastic flowers in this session. As we discuss the flowers, we will also discuss their function in design work. At the end, we'll show Linda's designs so you can see how the flowers mix with one another for pleasing combinations.

Part Two: How To Grow

In this session we categorize flowers by growth habits rather than design use and discuss how you can see success in the garden. You'll get a peek inside the infrastructure of Linda's farm and data on all the plants. Use this data to create a Planting Schedule. Want to know a little more About Linda?

Meet Dr. Linda Doan, retired college professor and owner of Aunt Willie’s Wildflowers. Aunt Willie’s provides a full service, seed to centerpiece experience for brides. She is the current secretary for the Association of Speciality Cut Flower Growers and serves as a mentor in their mentorship program, guiding a new farmer through their first two seasons. She also hosts workshops at her beautiful family farm for current and aspiring growers and designers. She has been growing flowers for the last 12 years.
