Announcing the new DESIGNER OF THE YEAR event inside the 2018 Team Flower Conference.
There is no age limit, no experience level requirements and no certification requirements. This event is open to all Conference attendees with the gumption to jump in!
Participants will compete in five challenges on Friday, March 9 — a freestyle design, a mystery bucket challenge, a boutonniere race, a three-question interview, and a mock client design proposal. Points will be given in all categories and the highest overall score wins the title of Designer of the Year.
Designer of the Year will receive a cash prize, awards from sponsors and interview opportunities with Team Flower.
Winners will also be chosen in the following categories based on the freestyle design portion of the event — Mastery in Color, Mastery in Principles of Design, Innovative Design, Rising Star and People's Choice.
Awards will be announced at the Celebration of Flowers Dinner that evening.
Entry fee is $199 and covers flowers. Participants will bring their preferred supply set. There are no "rules" for what tools you use or the way you handle your mechanics or designs. We are celebrating the idea there is more than one way to do something! Innovation often stems from moments like these!
